What is a fanlisting?

A fanlisting is exactly what it sounds like: fans gathered together in a single list to show their love for a particular subject. A website is not required to join; the only information needed is a name and a country though many fanlistings also require a valid email address.

Song Info

The breakout hit by Franz Ferdinand, "Take Me Out" was released in 2004 as the band's second single off their eponymous debut album. It was #3 on both the UK Singles chart and the US Modern Rock Tracks chart; in addition, it's been used in the Sony PSP commercials, and the song has been covered by both the Scissor Sisters and the Magic Numbers.

With the strum of a guitar, the song begins at a moderate pace; the guitars' melody is soon accompanied by Alex Kapranos' vocals and the drums' steady rhythm. After almost a minute in, the song slows its tempo down to ease itself into that combination of stomping beats and an addictive chorus that we've all become so familiar with.

Video Info

Set against an intriguing 30's industrial-style backdrop, the band plays amidst a constantly changing photo montage; much of it is set in geometric designs. Reds, browns, and yellows prevail as the dominant colors. Even the members become a part of the mish mash of images, their heads propped up by mechanical bodies playing their instruments along with a number of shots of lead singer Alex Kapranos' floating head.
